Ok, Andy and I have a little bit of a tiff… He’s a nature boy who was raised in Michigan and knows the difference between a lamb and a sheep.
I, on the other hand, was raised in Southern California and didn’t have the most hands-on experience with wild animals growing up.
So the first time I saw a fox in nature after moving to Northern California, I didn’t exactly know what it was ( I probably shouldn’t be announcing this publicly, but it’s true). I though it was some sort of overgrown cat. Andy is baffled that I got this far in life not seeing a fox or knowing it’s part of the dog family. Um, It looked a lot like a cat to me!! So when this cute little fox wandered into our yard, I had the chance to snap some quick photos of him (excuse the photo quality- I specialize in photographing weddings not wild animals). Am I the only one who thinks this fox looks more like a member of the cat family than the dog family??
Just for kicks, here’s a photo of our cat thomas, and puppy sophie to compare.
I promise it’s a canine!!! But I must admit Foxes are a little cat like;)
