It’s beginning to feel like spring in the Sierra Foothills, and what better way to come out of hibernation that to share Amy and Oren’s beautiful spring wedding at River Highlands Ranch.  Andy and I will be tying the knot at this very spot in just a few short months,  and I can’t wait!  There’s something so special about River Highlands,  from the rolling hills with old oak trees and cows, to the elegant barn and vineyards, I just love being here.  Over the years, we’ve spent many laughter filled evenings at River Highlands Ranch celebrating with our couples and their families. It’s really a special place that I can’t wait to share with those we love.

Amy and Oren’s spring wedding was absolutely beautiful! From vintage tableware on farm tables, to the huge 7 foot LOVE letter marquee sign from Tin Roof Farmhouse, everything was perfect.  We had so much fun with their families and of course had the chance to work with many of our “friend-ors” from the Sierra Foothills.  Here’s a peek at their day and some of our favorite things about their wedding:

This beautiful rose pedal cake crafted by I do’s by Deb is quite simply my favorite cake of all times. I loved the delicate shimmery petals- it was too pretty to eat!.  On a funny note, this cake ended up in our freezer for about a month after their wedding… How did that happen?  At the end of the evening, everyone realized that no one had room in their freezer for the cake!  So we cleared out a space in our deep freezer where it stayed until Amy & Oren’s Reveal Party at our studio.  

Beautiful mismatched vintage plates and goblets from Tin Roof Farmhouse is the perfect accent to the beautiful Farm Tables at River Highlands Ranch.

One thing we love about outdoor weddings at River Highlands Ranch  is the elegant relaxed atmosphere.  Guests can play lawn games and sip wine during cocktail hour.  Looking for some outdoor games for your wedding? Some of our couples favorites have been: Giant Jenga (always a hit!),  corn hole, croquet, horseshoes, bocce ball.

“Pass the salad….” Family Style dining  is my FAVORITE way for meals to be served at weddings.  It far beats having your guests get up and stand in line for a buffet, and is more intimate than plated meals.  With everyone passing dishes around the table, it reminds me of my favorite holiday- Thanksgiving.  When Andy and I talked about food for our wedding, Family Style dining was a must for us.

We can’t let a wedding go by with out snapping a photo with our couple at the end of the night. One day, I think we’ll print up a wall with all our past couples. 🙂
