I LOVE these two. Love them. When Marissa and Dakota hired us to capture their dual LDS Temple and Haggin Oaks wedding, we could not have been more thrilled! It was quite the long wedding day with 2 wedding ceremonies, 2 locations, 2 wedding dresses, 14 bridesmaid dresses and some dashing tuxedos.
We started off the morning at the Sacramento LDS Temple where they officially tied the knot in an intimate religious ceremony behind closed doors. When they emerged beaming with bliss, we spent time capturing them with their family and friends around the beautiful grounds of the LDS Temple in Sacramento.
Then we headed off to Haggin Oaks Pavilion in Sacramento for their evening wedding ceremony and reception. While leaving the temple, we discovered that Dakota had a flat tire, so Andy scooped up the guys and I drove with Marissa over to the second ceremony site. As Marissa and I were making the 40 minute drive across town and talking about life and marriage, I had a moment where the feeling of pure joy and gratitude washed over me. In moments like this, I’m always so happy and grateful that our relationships with our couples is more than just photographer and client. We’re friends. We’re family. We’re in it together. In my early years as a wedding photographer, I didn’t have these this depth to my work, or these relationships with my couples. Now after over 13 years as a photographer, I feel blessed that my work is so fulfilling and fun.
Here’s a sneak peek at their day…
Same moment, different views. Andy’s with the guys and I’m with the girls as they prep for their first look.
