Hello friends,
What a week it’s has been (and it’s only Wednesday) I was down in Coronado for the weekend, and just LOVED the humidity/fog/rainy-ness there! I have to say that I adore everything about grass valley except 2 simple things:
1) That people don’t know how to drive through stop signs (you know this is true if you live here!)
2) The air is SO DARN DRY!
I have a humidifier that pumps out some 15+ gallons a day of purified water into my home, AND I drink a gallon of water a day, but I’m still slathering on the lotion and eye drops just to stay slightly hydrated. Yes, my friends…. I truly am an humidity-loving girl. Take me to Thailand where it’s smoldering and dripping wet all day, and I’m happy as a clam.
So Saturday was my first day off in like…. um…. I’m embarrassed to say…..a really loooonng time. I MADE myself stay off the computer and cell phone (which was so hard I can’t fully explain it here). I spent the day just enjoying Coronado Island… woke up late, sipped coffee with my friend, took a walk, saw my beloved hair dreseer, ate figs & goat cheese with avocados, took a nap, and laid on the grass under the sun reading a book (but I have to admit it was a business book- the e-myth enterprise, EXCELLENT for you business owners!) Fully retreating from life (even if it’s just for the day) is the quickest way for me to tap into my personal clarity.
And yesterday I spend the day having my mind kung-foo’d by the brilliant business strategist and coach Jeff Jochum at his Biz Clarity Class in Orange County. I can’t tell you how awesome the class was. I seriously feel like my brain is just going to explode any minute. I’ll blog more on this next week once I really land from the high. If you’re a business owner, I highly recommend following his blog, or getting yourself into one of his classes, SOON.
Tonight I’m heading out to the NCWEDS meeting in Grass Valley. Just love the opportunity to hang and share wine with the best vendors in the Sierra wedding industry, hope to see you there!
