One of the things I love about living in Nevada County is that we’re right on the snow line in the Sierra Foothills.  This means I can leave my house in Lake Wildwood where it’s sunny and be to a snowy wonderland in just a matter of minutes.   I’ve grown to appreciate that although we get 4 beautiful seasons, I don’t actually have to drive in the snow- which would surely be hazardous to myself and everyone around me.  This So-Cal raised girl has no business driving in the snow (or rain for that matter).

This also means that when winter arrives, we can take our couples on mini adventures and get some beautiful yet diverse backgrounds within just a few minutes, which is exactly what we did during Danielle and Chris’s engagement session. We started off their engagement session with the chilly fall feel of Nevada City, then headed up highway 20 for a few miles to play in the snow at Harmony Ridge.   It was a freezing but fun morning!
